CHICAGO – When Reds catcher Curt Casali exited with a right knee injury during Monday’s game against the Chicago Cubs, Kyle Farmer shifted into unfamiliar territory.
Sure, Farmer was drafted as a catcher in 2013. He’s played more than 300 minor league games at catcher. Even when he was a versatile infielder at the Major League level, he continued to do catching drills.
But this was a little different.
