The MLB trade deadline on August 1st is rapidly approaching and the trade rumors around the Cincinnati Reds are starting to heat up. Cincinnati is 39-60 and in last place in the NL Central. The Reds are one of the worst teams in baseball this season and there's no doubt they'll be sellers at the deadline. With that in mind, here all the latest Reds trade rumors.
Jay Bruce Close To Being Dealt?
Any list of the most likely players to be dealt before the deadline should have Jay Bruce near the top. Even Bruce himself said he expects to be traded. It seems the Reds' talks with clubs about Bruce are starting to heat up.
The #Reds have picked up the pace on Jay Bruce trade discussions. They're talking to at least 4 clubs. Seeking a top prospect in return.

A top prospect is a lot to give up, but there aren't many better bats on the market this deadline. Teams like the Dodgers, Orioles, Giants, Nationals, Rangers and Indians have all been connected at various points. The Blue Jays were an option, although their trade for Melvin Upton likely takes them out of the race.
Could Reds Deal Anthony DeSclafani?
In a down starters' market this deadline, DeSclafani has added value. That's why Ken Rosenthal suggests the Reds could listen to trades for DeSclafani. However, Rosenthal also says that might be a bit unlikely because the timing isn't right. DeSclafani is under team control through the 2020 season and the Reds can build around him. He's in the midst of a great season, but continued strong play will only boost his value. Unless the Reds get a stunning return, don't expect DeSclafani to be traded.
Reds After Yanio Perez?
In the non-trade rumors section, the Reds reportedly have interest in Cuban third baseman Yanio Perez.

The 20-year-old is the No. 10 overall prospect available in the July 2 international market and the second-best still left. The Reds already landed the No. 7 player, shortstop Alfredo Rodriguez. Like many of the prospects the Reds target, he has plenty of tools, but is raw.
