The Cincinnati Bengals are now 8-0 for the first time in franchise history after beating the Cleveland Browns 31-13 on Thursday Night Football. The loss drops the Browns to 2-6.
TE Tyler Eifert had an incredible game, as did QB Andy Dalton. Eifert only caught five passes for 53 yards, but three of them went for touchdowns. Eifert tied the franchise record for most TDs in a season, and still has eight games left. Dalton continued his stellar play, completing 21 of 27 passes for 234 yards and 3 TDs. He didn't commit any turnovers.
The running game was strong for the Bengals, recording 152 yards on 37 carries.
The Browns offense completing shut down in the second half, failing to pick up a first down until three minutes left to play. The running game was once again nonexistent, as the Browns picked up just 69 yards on 17 carries.
Johnny Manziel got the start in lieu of an injured Josh McCown. Manziel was much better than the last time he played Cincinnati, but it still was far from enough to pick up a win. Manziel completed just 15 of 33 passes for 168 yards and a TD. He did add 31 yards on the ground.
The Browns recorded just 213 yards of offense, while the Bengals had 371. The 10 points are the fewest the Bengals have allowed all season long.
The Bengals now have 11 days to prepare for a home game against the Houston Texans on Monday Night Football. The Browns travel to face the Pittsburgh Steelers.
