With C.J. Uzomah out, Drew Sample’s time is now

The Bengals fought valiantly in their Week 2 clash with the Browns, and a big reason they had a chance to win late was Drew Sample stepping up.

The second-year tight end entered the game with six career catches for 37 yards while appearing in just 10 games. The 2019 second-round pick out of Washington had a rookie season to forget, including an ankle injury suffered in Week 10 that led to him being placed on injured reserve.

In Game 1 of the 2020 season, Sample was targeted just one time, which turned out to be a seven-yard reception.
