CINCINNATI -- Andy Dalton looked up, scanned the defense, motioned to the rest of the offense and walked backward.
Before a play in the second quarter of Monday’s 27-3 loss to the Pittsburgh Steelers, the Cincinnati Bengals quarterback called an audible.
In a perfect world, Dalton’s switch would have resulted in a big gain. But the first four games of Cincinnati’s season have been anything but perfect. Pittsburgh linebacker Bud Dupree came around the edge for a strip sack and the Steelers ended the Bengals’ promising red zone drive.
