Wednesday was the first day of full-padded practice for the Cincinnati Bengals. It’s the first legit litmus test for players at training camp. The coaching staff got a more comprehensive evaluation of the roster.
One position that the Bengals are assessing closely is the offensive line and more specifically left guard.
Veteran newcomer John Jerry, third-year lineman Christian Westerman and utility lineman Trey Hopkins are the front runners to open Week 1 as the starter. Hopkins is working with the first team at center while Billy Price is on the NFI list.
