Xavier Williams calls himself a run-stopper, which is exactly what the Cincinnati Bengals need.
One day after Bengals nose tackle D.J. Reader suffered a season-ending injury, Cincinnati signed Williams, a six-year veteran who won a Super Bowl with the Kansas City Chiefs last season.
Williams, who is 6-foot-2 and 309 pounds, will help fill the massive hole left by Reader in the middle of the Bengals defensive line.
“You talk about the AFC North and that’s what it’s about – physicality,” Williams said. “A lot of good teams that beat up on each other every year.
