Free agent linebacker Rey Maualuga, who spent the first eight seasons of his NFL career with the Cincinnati Bengals and made 108 starts in his 119 games with the team, signed with the Miami Dolphins, the team announced Saturday via Twitter.
The 30-year-old Maualuga worked out with the Dolphins on Wednesday.
The Enquirer's Paul Dehner Jr. wrote in March that it wasn't easy for the Bengals to release the 30-year-old Maualuga, but they saved $3.7 million against the 2017 salary cap by doing so.
From Dehner in March:
Maualuga had one year remaining on the three-year contract he signed in 2015.
