Update: Linebacker Ahmad Brooks is visiting the Green Bay Packers according to multiple reports, including this one by NFL.com's Conor Orr.
On Friday, the San Francisco 49ers released their longest tenured defensive player.
The 33-year-old Brooks was drafted by the Cincinnati Bengals in the third round of the 2006 NFL Supplemental Draft. He appeared in 11 games - including five starts - for the Bengals as a rookie, and started the first two games for the team in 2007 before a groin injury ended his season.
The Bengals released him during final cuts in August of 2008, and the Niners claimed him off waivers the following day.
