Tyler Boyd will try for a third 1,000-yard season from the slot

For as badly as the Bengals have missed in the first round of the draft in recent years, they have nailed their second round selections.

Tyler Boyd is one of Cincinnati’s best second round picks in recent years.

With A.J. Green’s up-and-down status over the last few years, Boyd became one of Andy Dalton’s favorite targets. Boyd is the first Bengals’ receiver not named A.J. Green with back-to-back 1,000 yard seasons since Chad Johnson and T.J. Houshmandzadeh did it in 2006-2007.

The wide receiver group is crammed with first and second round picks, but Boyd is the emerging leader of the squad.
