CINCINNATI -- Free agency unofficially began for the Cincinnati Bengals last Friday, when they re-signed receiver/return specialist Brandon Tate to a one-year contract.
According to contract records filed to ESPN's Roster Management system, Tate agreed to a one-year deal that carries a $680,000 cap charge for the 2016 season. As a player with six years of service time, his base salary will be the league vet minimum of $760,000.
With Tate back in the mix, the Bengals have shored up depth at receiver, and created some semblance of stability at the kick return position before the free agency period officially begins at 4 p.
