Former Cincinnati Bengals receiver Terrell Owens, elected earlier this year to the Pro Football Hall of Fame and set to be enshrined next month, announced Tuesday morning via Twitter that he'll give his Hall of Fame speech at his alma mater, the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga, in lieu of attending the induction ceremony in Canton, Ohio, with the rest of his class.
Owens said in June that he'll skip the August induction in Canton and celebrate elsewhere.
Former NFL player and coach and current television analyst Tony Dungy Tweeted that he feels sorry for Owens.
