Prior to the 2024 offseason, the Cincinnati Bengals preferred to rely on one-year veteran rentals and roster holdovers to fill up the tight end group. That changed in a big way this spring, as the team made two draft selections at the position, as well as three free agent acquisitions—two re-signings and an outside grab.
As the Bengals’ exciting offense looks to take that next step in its evolution, this group will be propelled into a much more prolific role this year. It’s not often that a sixth-round pick would enter the conversation as a potential immediate contributor, but Tanner McLachlan has a solid skill set to serve Cincinnati well.
