After spending 2016 with the Minnesota Vikings, tackle Andre Smith will rejoin the Cincinnati Bengals, where he spent his first seven seasons, a team source tells ESPN's Jeff Darlington.
The Buffalo Bills also tried to sign Smith, but the veteran ultimately decided he wanted to return to Cincinnati.
Smith, who staked his claim to the Vikings starting right tackle job last season as lingering Achilles issues forced Phil Loadholt to retire, played just three games before he needed season-ending surgery to repair a torn triceps muscle.
