D.J. Reader isn’t the only starting-caliber defender coming to Cincinnati.
The Bengals are signing cornerback Trae Waynes, a source informed The Enquirer. It is a three-year, $42 million deal.
Cincinnati got an agreement in principle with Waynes minutes after losing 2014 first-round pick CB Darqueze Dennard to the Jacksonville Jaguars.
Waynes primarily lines up at outside corner. He played 758 snaps at wide corner and just 23 in the slot last season as a member of the Minnesota Vikings. It’s going to be interested to see how the cornerback depth chart plays out with first rounders Dre Kirkpatrick and William Jackson III still on the roster.
