The Cincinnati Bengals made a splash in free agency on the defensive side of the football.
Defensive tackle D.J. Reader intends to sign with the Bengals once the new league year begins on Wednesday at 4 p.m. ET, a source told The Enquirer. The deal is worth 4-years and $53 million.
The Bengals wanted to address this defensive line this offseason, the acquisition of Reader qualifies as such. Reader is a physical 1-technique defensive tackle who the team intends to plug in immediately alongside of Geno Atkins.
Bengals defensive coordinator Lou Anarumo admitted at the 2020 NFL Scouting Combine that team wants to give Atkins and the d-line some help.
