INDIANAPOLIS – Bengals safety Shawn Williams' had an abbreviated stay in the team's season opener against the Colts as he was ejected from the game for a hit on Indianapolis quarterback Andrew Luck.
Late in the first quarter as the Colts were driving toward an eventual game-tying field goal, Luck broke from the pocket and was in the process of being tackled when Williams appeared to drop his shoulder into Luck's upper body.
After a 15-yard penalty was assessed, the game officials conferred and determined Williams would be ejected.
The ejection was in accordance with the NFL's new rules on targeting.
