Bengals rookie cornerback Josh Shaw, who once donated a dozen pair of his Air Jordan collection to a group of kids on a mission trip to Haiti, is showing off his NFL feet. It is on the screen of Bengals cornerbacks coach Vance Joseph and with clicker in hand he starts at February’s NFL scouting combine.
“Look at his feet. Look at how much ground he takes up,” says Joseph, who then watches him swivel his 200 pounds on his hips in a ball drill to change direction. “For a cornerback that big, that’s really good.”
Shaw, who transferred from Florida to USC to run his father’s landscaping business and bail out the family’s finances, is now on the screen running down the sideline step-for-step with his man.
