Steelers linebacker Ryan Shazier was fined $25,000 for his hit on Browns rookie quarterback DeShone Kizer, ESPN.com's Jeremy Fowler reported via Twitter. Fowler said Shazier told ESPN he was fined for a hit on a defenseless player, and that he's appealing.

The hit by Shazier on Kizer during Pittsburgh's win against Cleveland on Sunday caught the attention of many Bengals fans.

Bengals linebacker Vontaze Burfict Retweeted it.

Owczarski wrote in March of 2016 about Shazier's hit on the Bengals' Giovani Bernard in the Steelers’ 18-16 AFC Wild Card victory against the Bengals, and the NFL stating that it would reinterpret the rule regarding hits with the crown of the helmet after previously stating that the hit was legal because of the angles of the players.
