The Cincinnati Bengals acquired running back Khalil Herbert from the Chicago Bears in exchange for a seventh-round pick ahead of Tuesday’s NFL trade deadline. With Zack Moss out indefinitely with a neck injury, the Bengals needed to get a new back in the fold.
The Bengals historically do not trade for players in season, but it appears the front office knows they need help from outside of the building to make a run at the playoffs.
After the Herbert trade, Diana Russini of The Athletic reported that the Bengals were “not done” and that they were still calling around the league for defensive help.
