Quinton Spain is known as “Mr. Undrafted.”
It’s a reminder of how he went undrafted in 2015 and yet went on to start 66 NFL games. It’s also a reminder that he almost didn’t make it to the league.
“Instead of him crying about it, going undrafted made him work even harder,” said Michael Scott, who coached Spain at Petersburg High School in southeast Virginia. “When you hold him back, he’s just going to show you the mistake that you made.”
Spain grew up in Petersburg, Virginia. Population 32,420. He went overlooked in high school, in college and even after he had proven he could start in the NFL.
