HOUSTON – Bengals wide receivers coach James Urban still remembers the first time worked out Mohamed Sanu. He’d seen the tape. Gone through the Scouting Combine numbers. Loved the initial interview. He needed to arrange a meet up, but schedules became a problem.
The time to meet ended up being a private workout at Rutgers on a Saturday. That morning, two video guys showed up to help unlock a few rooms. Multiple coaches called to see if they could offer any assistance with the day.
Coaches make individual treks to schools this time of year all the time, but for this many people to go out of their way on a Saturday in the offseason was rare.
