Step inside the Boling household, with Cincinnati Bengals offensive lineman Clint Boling, his wife, Kelly, and 2-month-old daughter, Emma. The Enquirer/Kareem Elgazzar
Clint Boling could have played football this year. If his life were his alone, he might have. This was a Bengals guard who started 112 of 114 games in his eight-year career, all in Cincinnati. In 2016, Boling played 10 weeks with a separated shoulder. He was the unsung everyman of the Bengals five-year playoff run under Marvin Lewis.
He’s walking away for the best reason possible: To be able to spend time chasing his two small daughters around the house, and to let his wife sleep more soundly at night, knowing her husband is no longer donating his body to a game.
