Linebacker Jordan Evans is returning to the Cincinnati Bengals.
Evans signed a one-year contract to remain with the Bengals, the team announced on Sunday.
Evans’ return gives Cincinnati a veteran presence in its young linebacker room. The 26-year-old is currently the team’s oldest linebacker.
The veteran can play inside linebacker in the Bengals’ base nickel defense or slide to the outside when the team decides to play in a 4-3 defensive alignment. He’ll likely enter the season as one of the team’s top backup options at linebacker.
Evan has produced 105 tackles, 3.5 sacks, seven passes defended and two interceptions in 60 career games.
