As training camp rolls on, the Cincinnati Bengals are still without Ja’Marr Chase.
While the team has yet to officially disclose why Chase isn’t practicing, the belief is that he’s going through a hold-in as he looks to land a long-term contract extension. Chase has two years left on his contract after the team opted to pick up his fifth-year option for the 2025 season, but the goal all along has been to get a long-term deal now.
It won’t be easy, as Chase’s pending extension will potentially average $30 million annually. That’s a lot to commit to any non-quarterback position, but Chase has shown he’s worth it.
