The New England Patriots are releasing former Cincinnati Bengals receiver Mohamed Sanu Sr., according to multiple reports Wedn.
Sanu had 207 receiving yards on 26 catches with a touchdown in eight games for the Patriots last season after they acquired him in an October trade with the Atlanta Falcons for a 2020 second-round draft pick.
Last December, Sanu wore "Still Strong" game cleats with Leah Still pictured to support her father - Sanu's former Bengals teammate Devon Still - and raise childhood cancer awareness.
Sanu and Devon Still played together in Cincinnati from 2012 to 2014 - while Leah fought courageously through treatment of Stage 4 neuroblastoma - after the Bengals selected Still in the second round of the 2012 NFL Draft and took Sanu in the third round.
