The Cincinnati Bengals and head coach Marvin Lewis agreed to a contract extension Friday, NFL Network's Michael Silver reported. ESPN's Coley Harvey later confirmed the news.
Lewis completed his 13th season as the Bengals head coach in 2015 and led them to a 12-4 record, his best mark as the team's coach. Cincinnati, though, failed to make it out of the Wild Card Round for the seventh time under Lewis thanks to a last-minute loss to the Pittsburgh Steelers.
The loss didn't sit well with him, either, as he spoke with WLWT's Elise Jesse:
