The Las Vegas Raiders fired defensive coordinator Paul Guenther on Sunday night, per a team announcement.
Guenther was an assistant coach and defensive coordinator for the Cincinnati Bengals from 2005 to 2017.
Guenther left the Bengals in 2018 to become the Raiders' defensive coordinator.
He became the Bengals' defensive coordinator in 2014 when Mike Zimmer departed to become the Minnesota Vikings' head coach.
The Raiders' fell to 7-6 this season with Sunday's 44-27 loss to the Indianapolis Colts.
In Oct. 2019, Guenther criticized the 12-game suspension of Raiders (and former Bengals) linebacker Vontaze Burfict by referring to it as "a witch hunt from the beginning.
