Ken Riley, one of the longest-tenured and best- known Bengals, has died. He was 72.
He was a sixth-round draft choice of the team in 1969. He became a starter at cornerback that year and would go on to start 201 games for the Bengals.
He is the career leader interceptions with 65 – the fifth most all-time. The three of the four players above him in the list in the Hall of Fame. Charles Woodson, with whome Riley is tied on the all-time list, will likely get in when he’s eligible next year.
Riley returned five of those interceptions for touchdowns.
