Last offseason, the idea was to surround Joe Burrow with more talent on the offensive line. Many fans pushed for the team to sign one elite player, like Joe Thuney or (in my case) Trent Williams. The idea was, one elite player on the line can help elevate the standard of blocking and at least give the young QB one spot he doesn’t have to worry about.
As it turns out, the Bengals may have had that elite talent on the line the entire time. He just needed a bit more time (and better coaching) to develop.
So far in his first year under Frank Pollack, Jonah Williams has been fabulous in pass protection.
