CANTON — One of history's sharpest quarterback experts — a member of the Pro Football Hall of Fame Class of 2022 — smiled at the question.
If Dick Vermeil was starting a team and could have any current QB, who would he take?
The old coach's eyes lit up as he instantly responded, "The kid from Cincinnati."
Vermeil, in town for orientation in advance of his enshrinement this summer, LOVES Joe Burrow.
"That kid ... they'll win it all with him," he said.
Vermeil's first big find at quarterback was Ron Jaworski, who had been a backup elsewhere before going to a Super Bowl with Vermeil's Philadelphia Eagles.
