It’s the third week of the Sunday Ticket trial, a class action lawsuit filed on behalf of 2.4 million residential subscribers and 48,000 businesses.
The claim is that the NFL broke antitrust laws by “selling its package of out-of-market Sunday afternoon games at an inflated price” and restricting competition by only offering the overall service via satellite.
During the trial, Jerry Jones defended the league’s broadcast model, which prevents teams from selling their out-of-market rights separately. “I’m completely against each team doing TV deals,” said the owner of the Dallas Cowboys. “It is flawed.
