Jermaine Burton shined in the preseason but understands he must “lock in more”

The Cincinnati Bengals knew that they would need to replace Tyler Boyd this season and potentially Tee Higgins next season. What did they do to prepare?

Well, last offseason, they drafted two receivers, both of which are expected to crack the 53-man roster. However, neither is likely to be the Higgins’ replacement the team needs.

Enter Jermaine Burton.

Burton went for 156 receiving yards and two touchdowns through the preseason. He dropped in the draft due to character and off-field issues, but reports from Cincinnati have only been positive so far.

The former Alabama star knows he needs to continue to stay focused to improve his play.
