Jay Gruden, a former Cincinnati Bengals offensive coordinator and Washington Football Team head coach who worked in 2020 as the Jacksonville Jaguars' offensive coordinator, is expected to be a candidate for the Carolina Panthers' offensive-coordinator vacancy, according to a report Sunday via Twitter from ESPN's Adam Schefter.
Gruden indicated last February that he wouldn't be coaching during the 2021 NFL season and would like to give broadcasting a shot, suggesting that he could do a better job than CBS' Tony Romo.
Gruden was the Bengals' offensive coordinator under head coach Marvin Lewis from 2011 to 2013.
