Jay Gruden, a former Cincinnati Bengals offensive coordinator and Washington Football Team head coach who worked in 2020 as the Jacksonville Jaguars' offensive coordinator, interviewed for the Carolina Panthers' offensive-coordinator vacancy, according to multiple reports Tuesday.
Last month, the Panthers fired Joe Brady after two seasons as the team's OC. Brady was LSU's passing game coordinator when Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow led the Tigers to the College Football Playoff national title in 2019.
Gruden indicated last February that he wouldn't be coaching during the 2021 NFL season and would like to give broadcasting a shot, suggesting that he could do a better job than CBS' Tony Romo.
