The Cincinnati Bengals had to be ecstatic when LSU receiver Ja’Marr Chase fell to then at No. 5. While their other option, tackle Penei Sewell, was also on the board, they went with A.J. Green’s replacement instead of bolstering their offensive line.
The Bengals will catch some flak by some for not strengthening that line, but they added a generational talent in Chase.
On a team with former first-round NFL Draft pick and rookie standout Justin Jefferson and star Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow, Chase was dominant. He had 20 touchdowns on just 84 receptions, showing elite athleticism.
