Ja’Marr Chase was not happy Sunday.
The Cincinnati Bengals’ star receiver received a 15-yard penalty for abusive language towards a referee after what he perceived as a hip-drop tackle that was done by Kansas City Chiefs cornerback Trent McDuffie.
The play ended up costing the Bengals even after Joe Burrow did his best to get in the middle of Chase and the ref. Chase is being fined $31,599 for what the league dubbed “verbal abuse of an official.”
However, there were hip-drop tackles in the game, which the Bengals barely lost. There were certainly frustrations in the outcome and throughout the game, but many of these were justified complaints.
