Jackson Carman struggled mightily in preseason opener

The Cincinnati Bengals have continued to put faith in Jackson Carman, who was the team’s second-round pick in 2021, having played his high school ball at Fairfield High School, a suburb about 30 minutes north of downtown.

Carman was the 46th pick in the draft and has played in 22 games for Cincinnati, starting six of those over the last three seasons. He has seven penalties in those snaps, which felt like as many as he had in the preseason opener.

Carman had his first penalty early in the second quarter and ended with four flags called on him, all in the second 15-minute period.
