The Bengals’ worst nightmare occurred on Sunday’s second snap when perennial Pro Bowl wide receiver A.J. Green was carted off the Paul Brown Stadium field with a right hamstring injury. Green got tangled with Bills cornerback Stephon Gilmore on the Bengals sideline on an incomplete pass.
It was a devastating blow for an offense going against the NFL’s best rush with a quarterback sacked more than any other in the league than the Colts’ beleaguered Andrew Luck. Green came into the game having his best season, second in the NFL in yards and third in catches.
