Whoever wins the race for Hamilton County commissioner will play a role in the fate of the Cincinnati Bengals.
The future lease of Paul Brown Stadium, if there is one, is one of the many major issues that will face the county commissioners in the next four years.
The Bengal's lease with the county expires in 2026. Negotiations for a new lease and improvements to the stadium will begin in earnest in 2024, toward the end of the next commissioner's term.
There are three Democrats and one Republican who hope to win the seat formerly held by the late commissioner, Todd Portune.
