Former Bengals tight end C.J. Uzomah headed to New York Jets

The Cincinnati Bengals will be looking for a new pass-catching tight end as C.J. Uzomah is headed to play for the New York Jets.

ESPN’s Adam Schefter reported on Monday afternoon the Jets are giving Uzomah a three-year deal worth $24 million.

Uzomah played seven seasons in Cincinnati and is widely respected for his leadership and toughness. The 6-foot-6, 260-pound tight end is coming off a career year after missing the 2020 season with an Achilles injury that ended his season two weeks into the season.

With Uzomah departing, the Bengals will likely need to add to the tight end room.
