Update: Josh Johnson, who played in two games for the Cincinnati Bengals in 2013, replaced Mike White at quarterback for the New York Jets during the third quarter of Sunday's game.
Johnson was playing in a regular-season game for the first time since 2018.
White jogged off the field on his own after a big hit at the end of a play by the Bengals' Cam Sample, who was penalized.
The Jets elevated Johnson from the practice squad to the active roster to serve as White's backup.
Earlier: Receiver Corey Davis, who leads the New York Jets this season with 349 receiving yards, is inactive Sunday against the Cincinnati Bengals.
