Driskel has chance to leave lasting impression

There won’t be many opportunities like Thursday for Jeff Driskel. Rarely do third-string quarterbacks receive extended snaps in a game in this league. For many quarterbacks across this league, Thursday could be the last time they throw an NFL pass.

The second-year quarterback Cincinnati acquired one year ago after he was cut by San Francisco knows the unsecured nature of the NFL. He experienced it last year.

Final cuts must come by Saturday at 4 p.m.

With one final stamp at Indianapolis he can leave a lasting impression on the Bengals, assuring them he can eventually be the heir apparent to AJ McCarron as backup to Andy Dalton.
