Cincinnati Bengals defensive tackle Devonnsha Maxwell has passed a physical and is cleared to practice, the team announced Monday. Maxwell had been placed on the PUP list on July 20th.
The 6-foot-2, 297-pound Maxwell played college football at Chattanooga (2018-22) before signing with the Bengals as an undrafted free agent in 2023. Unfortunately, he suffered a season-ending knee injury in training camp and spent the year on IR.
This move comes at a time when the Bengals defensive line is rather thin due to injuries. Cam Sample is done for the year with a torn Achilles, while Sam Hubbard and Trey Hendrickson have missed time.
