DC Lou Anarumo says the defensive veterans have improved communication “10-fold”

The Cincinnati Bengals lost one coordinator this offseason, but they managed to keep the other despite interested teams.

Cincinnati retained defensive coordinator Lou Anarumo, who has been a mastermind for the team over the last several seasons. Anarumo led arguably the league’s best postseason unit in 2021.

To help combat the addition of many young cornerbacks and secondary players, the Bengals added former Ravens safety Geno Stone and then brought back Vonn Bell, who spent 2016-19 with the New Orleans Saints and the 2023 season with the Carolina Panthers.

Given the young players in the secondary last season combined with Nick Scott, the team’s communication was a clear issue, and it led to many big-yardage players from their opponents that often crippled the Bengals chances.
