Daugherty: Cincinnati Bengals' Lazor, Dalton 'trying to make the easy things easy'

When he’s with the media, Andy Dalton occasionally breaks from AndySpeak (a kinder, gentler form of discourse lifted from the football Book of Cliché) to say something profound and to the point. It’s completely unintentional when it happens. But instructive nonetheless.

“We’re trying to make the easy things easy," Dalton said Wednesday.

He was talking about the transition of offensive coordinators, from Ken Zampese to Bill Lazor. Players will let you know what they’d like you to grasp, if you’re smart enough to really listen.

No Bengal was going to say Wednesday, “Ken Zampese had so much stuff in the playbook, it was like we were in English class learning to make omelets.
