Damar Hamlin given CPR on field after injury during Buffalo-Cincinnati first quarter

Buffalo Bills defensive back Damar Hamlin suffered a serious injury during the first quarter of the team's Week 17 Monday Night Football showdown with the Cincinnati Bengals.

Hamlin fell to the field after trying to get up from a collision with Bengals receiver Tee Higgins. Medical personnel worked on Hamlin for several minutes. CPR was administered, and an AED was required.

Hamlin was removed by ambulance. The game was temporarily suspended.

Hamlin, 24, is in his second NFL season with the Bills. He played college football at Pitt.

A decision that play would resume in five minutes was re-evaluated.
