Quarterback Andy Dalton suffered a neck injury Saturday night, apparently when he converted a fourth-and-one from the half-yard line to give the Bengals a 7-0 lead over the Bears with 4:17 left in the first quarter.
Bengals head coach Marvin Lewis said the move was only "precautionary."
Dalton had been expected to play the first half with the first offense, but AJ McCarron took over on the second drive with 14:47 left in the half. The next time we see Dalton is most likely Sept. 13 in Oakland in the opener. It appeared not to be serious since he stayed on the sidelines.
