The Enquirer confirmed an ESPN report that the Cincinnati Bengals and Cleveland Browns discussed a trade for backup quarterback AJ McCarron, but could not confirm just how close the teams actually were to consummating a deal.
A league source with knowledge of the discussions indicated the Browns weren't able to settle their own in-house differences to come to a price. The Enquirer confirmed a second ESPN report that the Browns ultimately did not send the paperwork to the league office.
The Enquirer will update this story as it unfolds.
