In 2017, Tee Higgins and Donovan Peoples-Jones both wanted the same thing.
For most of his high school career at Cass Technical High School in Detroit, Michigan, Peoples-Jones was the top-ranked high school wide receiver in the country. At Oak Ridge High School in Tennessee, Higgins was ranked second.
Since they were 16 years old, Higgins and Peoples-Jones have been pitted against each other.
“That top spot was a big motivator for (Higgins),” said Joe Gaddis, Higgins’ high school head coach. “That was just his competitive nature.”
In high school, Higgins and Peoples-Jones were the two stars in a cross country competition for the top-ranked wide receiver spot in the highly regarded 2017 recruiting class.
